Cardiff Met Archers vs Worcester Wolves

Wheelchair Basketball – Women’s Premier League

Match date: 18/02/2023

Tipoff: 2 pm GMT

Venue: Archers arena, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Cyncoed campus

Worcester Wolves will travel to Cardiff on Saturday to face Cardiff Met Archers, as both teams attempt to get their first victory this season.

Archers starting 5: Jade Atkin (C), Adele Atkin, Ella Archer, Leah Evans, and Sam Hill.

Wolves Starting 5: Sarah Hope (C), Kayla Bell, Kayli English, Niamh Horan, and Jade Loughlin.

The newest signing for Archers, Sam Hill is definitely one to watch, she possesses a rare combination of size, speed, and power.

In head-to-head competition (Archers 3 – 1 Wolves) the Archers won all three league matches against the Wolves in the past. However, Worcester defeated Cardiff Met in the decisive 3rd/4th play off game last year.

Archers will have the home advantage and if previous games are anything to go by, the dedicated crowd is expected to play a huge factor in how the game is going to play out.

“It is really exciting to play our first-time game this season, both teams are quite evenly matched… we did not play particularly well against UEL last month, we looked at the video, we have seen the errors we can improve, we have had some good training sessions, now it is just about getting out on the court and showing what we are about, we are expecting a really competitive game against Worcester,” Cardiff Met Archers coach Tom Guntrip said.
